Was The Car-Bomb Really Meant To Detonate ?
The Nissan Pathfinder Sport Utility Vehicle laced with non-explosive fertilizer and other components constructed from regular store brought, household items to hook up the home-made bomb from scratch, might not have even been really intended to actually blow up completely in the end, or actually hurt anyone, but just might have been to scare, divert and possibly send a message. The NY Times quoted several unidentified officials reported the call that 1st came in had been made by an individual threatening that the times square event was only a diversion for a much more devastating explosion attack and this recent disturbance is just a distraction leading up to an even more deadly hostile event to take place. The location of the call was traced down to a phone booth on Seventh Avenue and West 53rd Street. New York City Police Commisioner Ray Kelly answered a reporters question about the 911 call that had supposedly been made at around 4am, Sunday by someone claiming responsibility for the attack, insisted that there was "No record of the call in the system".
